The CO2BUDDY uses advanced non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) technology to continuously monitor ambient air for carbon dioxide (CO₂). This reliable sensing method requires no additional control or calibration gases. Designed for simple operation, the unit protects users and those nearby by alerting them to CO₂ leaks or dangerous build-up through multiple alarm types: a high-visibility LED display, a powerful audible alarm, and a strong vibration alert.
The vibration alarm is ideal for noisy environments where audible alerts may be masked by background noise, and users can select their preferred alarm settings. CO2BUDDY features multiple configurable alarm set points to meet common safety regulations and jurisdictional requirements, which can vary by country, region, or municipality. CO2 Exposure
While brief exposure to CO2 is common throughout the workday, it’s the potential build-up of the gas from different locations that can often put employees at risk. The CO2BUDDY monitors the average CO2 level over an 8-hour period and will alarm when overall exposure becomes harmful.
Lightweight, portable, and highly effective, the CO2BUDDY is one of the smallest and lightest personal CO2 monitors available today. Designed with user comfort and convenience in mind, the unit can be clipped to a shirt pocket, belt, or lanyard with little interference with the monitoring process.

From initial power-up, you must allow a two-hour charge and perform a quick fresh air calibration. Your CO2BUDDY is then ready to protect you!
This can be caused by rapid temperature changes from cold to warm. These changes may result in condensation forming on the sensor optics which causes the CO2BUDDY to over-read.

F60 is a fault that is displayed when the CO2BUDDY is failing to charge correctly.
This can be caused by using a charger that does not have enough current to supply power to the device steadily enough, this is usually caused when trying to charge from a PC USB port.
Using a more powerful charging plug such as a fast-charge plug should remedy the issue. If it does not, it is likely that the battery has become dormant.
The CO2BUDDY is sold in a low-power “ship mode”. This extends the product shelf life (up to 18 months) so first use can be as simple as charging and then fresh air calibrating the unit. Products stored for long periods or allowed to fully discharge and then stored for months without charging are subject to a second safety feature.
The unit display will show F60 when connected to external power and will not charge. This is an indication that the CO2BUDDY has entered a dormant state (to further reduce the discharge rate). This state is usually recoverable but please note it should be avoided because deep discharge can result in battery damage and reduced performance.
