About Us

Our journey so far

Looking back to 1981, it’s hard to imagine just how far Analox would go. What started as a focused engineering business has grown into a company involved in some truly remarkable projects over the years. It’s something the whole team takes a great deal of pride in.

Here’s a snapshot of some of the moments that have shaped who we are today:

  • 1981 – Analox is founded, initially supporting commercial diving operations within the oil and gas sector.
  • 1990 – Our equipment is approved for use by the US Navy, leading to the supply of submarine escape analyzers.
  • 1996 – We develop a low-cost infrared CO₂ sensor, helping make gas detection more accessible for bars and restaurants. Working alongside a German partner, we supported legislative changes that ultimately made CO₂ monitoring mandatory in hospitality settings across Germany.
  • 2002 – Expansion into the United States with the establishment of our US sales, support, and distribution operation.
  • 2005 – Design and delivery of equipment for multiple submarine rescue systems.
  • 2008 – Our Hypergas Hydrocarbon Analyzer becomes mandated by the OGP. To this day, we remain the only company capable of measuring hydrocarbons in 95% relative humidity inside deep-sea diving bells, helping protect divers worldwide.
  • 2012 – We design and supply gas detection systems for manned space missions to the International Space Station.
  • 2015 – Introduction of our 24/7/365 emergency helpline, ensuring customers can reach us anytime, anywhere.
  • 2018 – Acquisition of a gas sensing company, expanding our capabilities with GFC infrared technology and enhancing our multigas and custom solution offering.
  • 2019 – Delivery of primary submarine atmosphere monitoring systems to multiple nations, both centralized and distributed.
  • 2021 – Awarded our largest contract to date: £13.9M for submarine atmosphere analysis systems for the UK Ministry of Defence.
  • 2022 – Analox Group becomes part of ION Science Holdings Ltd.

The word ‘Improvement’ was mentioned several times in all areas of your business, that is very encouraging. It is clear that you are a good organization with a high quality way of working which is rarely seen in smaller companies.
