Pioneering Sustainable Agriculture: Empowering Farmers to Reduce Methane Emissions and Protect Our Planet
Understanding the challenge
Agriculture plays a significant role in global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Gasses such as methane (CH₄), carbon dioxide (CO₂), and ammonia (NH₃) are all contributors, with methane from ruminant livestock accounting for a large share, estimated at around 40% of total agricultural emissions.
As pressure builds to address climate change, increasingly ambitious targets are being set to reduce emissions across all sectors, including agriculture. Reaching those targets, however, depends on having accurate, reliable ways to measure progress and ensure reductions are both realistic and achievable.

Supporting Farmers as Demands Evolve
Farmers sit at the center of the global food system, working continuously to meet demand while adapting to changing conditions. Today, that challenge is becoming more complex. Alongside productivity, there is a growing expectation to monitor and manage environmental impact.
With tighter regulations and stronger sustainability targets, emissions monitoring is becoming part of everyday operations. At Analox, we’re focused on developing solutions that make this process more practical, helping reduce the burden while still delivering meaningful, usable data.
The Importance of Reliable Data
Effective emissions monitoring is a critical step toward reducing environmental impact and meeting compliance requirements. Greenhouse gases don’t just influence climate change, they also affect air quality, making accurate measurement increasingly important.
Access to dependable data allows for better decision-making, from identifying where emissions occur to implementing targeted strategies for reduction. Without that visibility, long-term progress becomes much harder to achieve.
Working Alongside the Industry
Analox has built a strong reputation in gas sensing, supporting industries that depend on accurate, real-time measurement. Our systems are designed to provide dependable data that helps businesses operate safely and make informed decisions day to day.
Through our involvement in the Dancing with Daffodils consortium, we work closely with farmers, researchers, and industry partners to better understand and reduce methane emissions. The goal is to develop practical monitoring solutions that fit seamlessly into existing workflows, without adding unnecessary complexity.
Looking Forward
Sustainable agriculture requires a careful balance between productivity and environmental responsibility. As the industry continues to evolve, the need for effective emissions monitoring will only grow.
At Analox, we remain focused on developing solutions that support farmers in meeting these challenges, while contributing to a more sustainable future for the sector as a whole.
